ay Scripps Sweeney: This talented singer, keyboard/piano player and songwriter brings his Jay Sweeney Experience to Arthur’s Tavern on Monday nights. Featured as a weekly performer on VH1's RuPaul show, Jay Sweeney also plays with the house band at the famed Café Wha, a gig he began after touring the United States as a keyboard player for blues legend Bo Diddley. In 1997, Jay received recognition for his songwriting and musical talent on his successful recording, Cover of a Magazine.   Influenced by his father, a concert pianist, and his mother, a piano teacher, he headlined as a solo pianist in Norway, Sweden and Australia, before forming the Jay Sweeney Band, a steady popular act on the New York City music scene.  Sweeney’s’ work embraces many tones and styles with ease - delivering music that is sexy, edgy and packed with an energy  audiences love.  In addition to his music career, Jay is a successful film and television actor, model, and saxophone player.
